Privacy policy.

MovingCal (movingcal.com) is a free set of relocation calculators. This policy explains what data the site handles when you use it – which is deliberately very little – and the rights you have over it. It applies to every page on movingcal.com.

What we collect

MovingCal has no accounts and no sign-up. The numbers you type into our calculators – salaries, rents, household details – are processed entirely in your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, stored, or shared. Close the tab and they're gone. The only personal information the site asks for is what you choose to put in the contact form: a name, an email address to reply to, and your message.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records basic technical data when you request a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site running (our legitimate interest under GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). They are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard rotation and are not used to build profiles of visitors.

Cookies and advertising

MovingCal does not set first-party tracking cookies. The site may display advertising served by third-party vendors, including Google. These vendors use cookies (such as Google's advertising cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Where required by law (including the EU and UK), you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set.

Analytics

We do not currently run a third-party analytics service. If we add one, we will prefer aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement, and this policy will be updated before it ships.

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, and message are delivered straight to our private inbox as an email and used for exactly one thing: replying to you. Submissions are not stored in any database, we don't add you to mailing lists – there aren't any – and we never sell or share your address. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to answer you and maintain a record of the conversation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, and similar laws elsewhere), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Because we store almost nothing, most requests are short conversations – but they are always welcome. Contact us via the details on the contact page and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

MovingCal is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, this page changes first – with a new effective date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
